Mariner-US Frigate  'Bon Homme Richard'

   I certify That in conformity with the law of the United States, of the 18th 
of March, 1818, John Kilby, late a mariner in  the naval service of the United 
States, on board the frigate 'Bon Homme Richard' during the revolutionary war, 
is inscribed on the pension list, roll of the Virginia Agency, at the rate of 
eight dollars to  commence on the 28th of April, 1818.  Given at the War Office 
of the United States this 31st  of July,  1818.  J or L. C. Calhoun, Secretary 
of War.

 Payable on the 4th of March, and 4th Sept. in each year, by Wilson C. Nicholas, 
Esq: Branch Bank of the United States, Richmond VA    (to John Kilby)
