Company. In Colonal William Washington's regiment of Calvary, who was enlisted shortly after the battle of Guilford Courthouse ,and ?? before the battle of Eutau ? to serve during the war, but was sick and on furloe when the troops wer discharged which prevented my having a discharge from the United States Army on the (blank) day of (blank) as will more fully appear by the records at the war Department and by these presents do nominate substitute and appoint Parker Williams my truly and lawful attorney for my and in my name and for my behalf, to procure and receive from such officer, person, or persons as shall be legally authorized to grant the same and warrant for the quantity of land to which I am entitled for services rendered by me as a solider in the army of the United States during the Revolutionary War pursuant to the law of the United States in such case made and provided. And I do further hereby impower the said Parkin Williams to do and perform all such case made and provided. Am I do further hereby impower the said Parker Williams to do and perform all such acts and things and to give such a receipt or receipt to execute such instrument or instruments in writing as shall be required in full or ample manner as I could myself do hereby further impower him to constitute and appoint an attorney or attorneys and or him for the said purpose and also at pleasure to revolk the same and do further hereby ratify and confirm whatever my said attorney or his substitute shall lawfully do in the premises. In testimony where of I have here unto set my hand and seal at Tuper court house this 26 day of April one thousand eight hundred and nineteen. Levi Long being duly sworn doth dispose and say that he is the same person described in and who executed the above power of attorney, and that the same is his own ? and voluntary act for the purposes mentioned therein. Levi Long his x, sworn to and subscribed the 26 day of April 1819 before me. John Cargill State of Virginia James Richardson and William Parsons being duly sworn .depose and say that they and each of them are personally acquainted with the above named Levi Long and well know him to be the person described in the above power of attorney.
