Todd Summons, 1844 - Montgomery Co. VA The Commonwealth of Virginia, John Casper deputized for that purpose, to execute: We command you to summon Lafoster Todd and of further require him to bring with him his Negro slave, Abram, so they they both appear before the Justices of the County of Pulaski, at the Court-house, on tomorrow at 10 o'clock to testify and the truth to speak, in behalf of Willis, a slave, in a certain matter of controversy depending before the said Justices between the Commonwealth and said Willis, on a charge of felony; and this he shall in no wise omit, under the penalty of $16.
