Lewis Price Grant, 1800 - Montgomery Co. VA James Monroe, Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia to all to whom these presents shall come greeting. Know ye, that by virtue of a Land Office Treasury Warrant number nineteen hundred and ninety eight issued the fifth day of October one thousand seven hundred and ninety six, There is Granted by the said Commonwealth unto Lewis Price a certain tract or parcel of land containing four hundred acres by survey bearing date the eighth day of January one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight, lying and being in the County of Montgomery on the northwest side of Bradshaw Creek waters of the north fork of RoanOke and on the South side of the dividing ridge between said waters, bounded as followeth to wit, beginning at a white oak and a hickory sapling and a white oak tree by a branch corner of William McClanahan and with his line North sixty six degrees East three hundred and seventy seven poles crossing a number of small branches to a chesnut oak, spanish oak and poplar South thirty five degrees East forty one poles to two white oaks and a red oak on the bank of Bradshaws Creek thence leaving said line and up the several courses of the Creek and binding thereon one hundred and twenty seven poles to a large poplar and two white oaks North eighteen degrees West one hundred and forty two poles to five pines on the dividing ridge between the north fork of RoanOke and said Creek thence along the said ridge the several Courses and binding thereon five hundred and thirty five poles and leaving it South twenty five degrees East one hundred and thirty eight poles to the beginning with its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said Lewis Price and his heirs forever. In Witness whereof the said James Monroe, Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond, on the twenty second day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and of the Commonwealth the twenty fifth.
