Obituary of James Crockett Brown, 1935 - Montgomery Co. VA "James Crockett Brown, 63, former United States deputy marshall for the Western District of Virginia, and at one time a candidate for election to the General Assembly on the Republican ticket, died this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs J M Zirkle, 1316 Chapman Avenue, SW, after a long illness.       Surviving are three daughters, Mrs Zirkle of Roanoke, Mrs Willie Younce Hurt of Salem, and Katye W Brown of Harrisonburg, and two brothers, A D Brown of Swords Creek, and E F Brown of Cambria.       The funeral will be conducted at the Main Street Baptist Church, Christiansburg, Wednesday at 2 pm, by the Rev R A Cadle, assisted by Rev J H Powers. Interment will be in Evergreen Burial Park here.       Mr Brown has been closely affiliated with church, civic and political affairs in Roanoke for a number of years.
