     John GOOKINS, patent, 500 acres, 17 Oct 1636

            To all to whome these p'sents shall come I Cap.t John West 
            Esq.r Govern.r &c send &c Now Know yee that I the 
John        Said  Cap.t John West  Esq.r doe  w.th the consent of the 
 Gookins    Councell of State  accordingly give and grannt Unto 
   500      John Gookins gent' five hundred acres of Land begining 
            at a point comonly called Mossey point  West  Upon 
  Exm'd:    Nanzamund river  East into the woods  South adjoyning 
            to the Gleabland  The Said five hundred acres of land 
            being due Unto him the Said John Gookins by and for the 
            transportac'on at his owne p'per costs & charges of tenn 
            p'sons into this Colony  whose names are in the records 
            menc'oned Under this pattent  To have and to hold &c 
            dated the 17.th of October 1636  Ut in alÿs 

            The whole quantitie of       Thomas Box Jun.r  Peter Norman 
            acres menc'oned in this      Mary Norman  John Butler  John 
            Pattent was renewed by       Burden  Robert Hodges  John 
            S.r John Harvey  in the      Carpenter  Edw.d Morgan  John 
            name of John Gookins         London  W.m Peasant 
            the 18.th of February 1638 
              Test me Tho: Cooke  Cl. 
                                                 Three hundred acres of 
                                                 this said land was renewed 
                                                 in the name of John 
                                                 Gookin gent' by S.r John 
                                                  Harvey 
                                                       Test me Tho: Cooke
