     Robert BENNETT, patent, 200 acres, 18 Feb 1638/9 

              To all to whome these p'sents shall come I S.r John 
              Harvey  K.t  Govern.r &c send &c whereas &c Now 
M.r Robert    Know  yee that I the Said S.r John Harvey  K.t  doe 
  Bennett     w.th the Consent of the Councell of State accordingly 
    200       give and grannt Unto M.r Robert Bennett twoe - 
              hundred acres of land Scituate lying and being in the 
              Second Creeke on the Easterly Side of Matrevers - 
    Exm'd     river w.th in the Upper County of New Norfolke -- 
              behinde his owne Land  runing along  by his Said 
              Land North East and South East into the woods __ 
              The Said twoe hundred acres of land being due Unto 
              him the Said Robert Bennett by and for the  _ _ 
              transportac'on of fower p'sons into this Colony whose 
              names are in the Records menc'oned Under this  - - 
              pattent To have and to hold  &c  dated the 18.th of 
              February 1638  Ut in alÿs

[database & index give 1638- the British did not adopt the Gregorian calendar 
 until 1752. 

 The 700-acre tract had been patented 20 Jun 1635 & 18 Aug 1637 (ibid, 
 pp. 188-89,458). 
 This 200-acre tract was re-patented by Robert's administrator Phillip Bennett, 
 5 Nov 1648 (PB2:60).
 
 The name "Matrevers river" appears in only three patents, and the other two 
 both state, "Nansamund river al's {alias; otherwise known as} Matrevers river" 
 (John Gookins, PB1:611-12; Abraham Peltree, PB1:620-21).]
