     John GARRETT, patent, 150 acres, undated (circa 1637) 

             To all to whome these p'sents shall come I S.r Francis Wyatt 
             K.t Govern.r send greeting &.c Now Know yee that I the 
John Garrett Said S.r Francis Wyatt doe w.th the consent of the Councell 
    150      of State accordingly give grannt and Confirme Unto John 
             Garrett one hundred and fiftie acres of Land Scituate lying 
             and being in the Countie of New Norfolke Upon a branch 
             which yssueth out of the Westerne [branch] of Nansamund river 
             adjoyning to a p'cell of Land of M.r William Eyres begining 
             at a pockerey marked w.th twoe notches on each Side runing 
             North North East for length and East South East for breadth 
             &c  The Said one hundred and fiftie acres __

[The description "in the Countie of New Norfolke" suggests this patent 
 was issued between the formation of New Norfolk in 1636 and its division 
 in 1637 into Upper Norfolk & Lower Norfolk Cos.; however, the clerk's 
 failure to complete the copy calls this dating into question. 

 This patent is preceded by one to Henry/Henrie Bradley/Bradly/Bradlie, 
 for 250 acres in Upper Norfolk Co. on New Town Haven River, 7 Nov 1640; 
 the patent on the following page, to William Yarrett (Jarrett) for 
 150 acres in Isle of Wight Co., is dated 3 Apr 1641.]
