Nansemond County Virginia USGenWeb Archives Land Records 
     Randall CREW, patent, 450 acres, 13 Nov 1640 

              To all to whome these p'sents shall come I S.r Francis Wyatt 
              K.t Govern.r &c send &c whereas &c Now Know yee that 
Randall       I the Said S.r Francis Wyatt K.t doe w.th the consent of 
   Crew       ["the Councell of" struck] 
              State accordingly give and grannt and confirme Unto Randall 
    450       Crew fower hundred and fiftie acres of Land Scituate 
              lying and being in the Countie of the Upper New Norfolke 
              Upon the head of a Creeke which issueth from the Southerne 
              branch of Nansamund river  begining at a point of Land opposite 
              to a feild called Georges feild runing behind the land of M.r 
              Thomas Dew and on the other Side bounded by the maine Poquoson 
              runing South west for length  to bee augmented and doubled 
              when hee or his assignes shall have Sufficiently peopled and 
              planted the Same The Said fower hundred and fiftie acres of 
    Exmd:     Land being due Unto him the Said Randall Crew by and for the 
              transportac'on at his owne p'per costs and charges of nine p'sons 
              into this Colony all whose names are in the records menc'oned 
              Under this pattent  To have and to hold &c Yeilding and paying 
              Unto o.r Said Soveraigne Lord the King his heires and Successo.rs 
              for ever or to his or their Treasurer  for every fiftie acres of 
              Land herein by these p'sents given and grannte yearely at 
              the feast of S.t Michaell the Arch'ell the fee rent of one shilling 
              to his Maj.ties Use  which paym.t is to bee made Seaven yeares 
              after the date of this pattent and not before according to the 
              Said Charter of orders from the Treasurer and Company 
              and Confirmed by his Maj.ties Said Instituc'ons  As alsoe by Act 
              of Assembly bearing date the Sixth day of January 1639  --
              Provided &c dated the thirteenth day of November 1640
