Nansemond County Virginia USGenWeb Archives Land Records 
     William STOREY, patent, 200 acres, 20 Nov 1645 

      To all &c Whereas &c Now Know yee that I the Said S.r William Berkeley 
      Kn.t doe with the Advice and Consent of the Councill of State Accordingly 
      give and grant Unto William Storey two hundred Acres of Land   ~ 
      Scituate or being in the County of the Upper Norfolk and lyeing one 
      the East ward Side of the North west branch of Nansimond river 
      aboute four Miles Up the branch and lyeing between the branch 
      of Thomas Emerson and Francis Maulden (which Land boundeth 
      the Said Land, the Said two hundred Acres of Land being due Unto 
      him the Said William Storrey  by and for the Transportation of 
      four  persons into this Colony whose Names are in the records ~ 
      Mentioned Under this Patent &c to have and to hold &c To bee 
      held &c. Yeilding and paying unto our Said Sovereigne Lord the 
      King  his heires and Successo.rs for Every fifty Acres of Land herein 
      by these presents given and granted yearely at the feast of S.t Michaell 
      the Arch angell the fee rent of one Shilling to his Majesties Use 
      which payment is to be made Seven yeares after the Date of this 
Ex    Patent  and not before &c Dated the 20.th of November 1645
