     Randall CREW, patent, 460 acres, 9 Sep 1648 

   To all &c Whereas &c Now Know yee that I the Said S.r William Berkeley 
   Kn.t doe w.th the Advice and Consent of the Councill of State Accordingly 
   give and grant Unto m.r Randall Crew fower hundred and Sixty Acres of 
   Land Scituate or being in the County of Nansemund being on the Eastward 
   Side of the Southern branch of Nansemund River and begining at a 
   Marked red oake Standing on a point on the Northward Side of the 
   Mouth of a Creeke Called Cranyed Creeke and runing North North 
   East two hundred and four poles by the Maine branch Side Unto a 
   Marked red oake and Soe South East three hundred and twenty poles 
   on the Land of William Hatfeild Unto A Marked red oake and Soe

   South East be South three hundred and twenty poles Unto A Marked- 
   white oake Standing by the Side of the Said Crany Creeke and Soe runing 
   down by or Nigh on the Side of the Said Creeke unto the first Mentioned ~ 
   Marked tree the Said Land being due Unto the Said m.r Crew by and for the 
   Transportation of ten persons into this Colony  there remayning due forty 
   Acres Upon the last Name whose Names are in the records Mentioned ~ 
   Under this Patent to have and to hold &c to be held &c Yeilding &c which 
   which payment is to be Made Seven yeares after the Entry of the Said pattent 
   into the office being the 19.th of October 1644 and not before Dated y.e 9.th
