SHEPHERD and John SHEPHERD, her husband To Dawson BOON Deed Book 40, page 573 July 18, 1898 * * * * * * * * * * This deed made this 15th of July, 1898 between Jane R. Shepherd and John Shepherd her husband of the County of Nansemond in the State of Virginia of the first part and Dawson Boon of said County and State of the second part. Witnesseth: That for and in consideration of Three hundred ($300) dollars the said parties of the first part doth grant unto the said party of the second part with General Warranty, all that lot or parcel of land in the Town of Suffolk in said County and state and bounded and described as follows Commencing at a point on the south side of Wilson Avenue in said town at the northwest corner of a lot formerly belonging to R. C. Crumpler deceased and running westwardly and fronting on said avenue forty (40) feet to Rufus E. Potter's lot thence running southwardly along said Rufus Potter's lot one hundred and one feet and seven inches (10 7-12) thence eastwardly parallel with said avenue forty (40) feet to the lot of said Crumplers or that which was his and thence along said Crumplers lot one hundred and one feet and seven inches (10 7-12) to the point of beginning together with all and singular the appurtenances belonging to the same and it being one of those parcels of land conveyed to Jane R. Shepherd by John Shepherd by deed dated the 15th of January, 1898 and recorded in the Clerks Office of Nansemond County in DB No 40, page 238. The said parties of the first part covenant that they have the right to convey said land to the grantee that they have done no act to encumber said land that they will execute such further assurances as may be requisite as to said land.
