M.F. Allen, assisted by Dr. H.S. Hardcastle. The Christian Church choir, Newport News, rendered the hymn, "Face to Face," accompanied by Miss Ruth Holland. "There Is No Parting in Heaven" was rendered as a duet by Miss Mildred and Mrs. J.W. Edwards. Mrs. Clarence Harrell, Mrs. Telza Miller, W.W. Ballard, Hersey Woodward, Jr., accompanied by Mrs. C.R. Wallace, rendered the hymn, "Rock of Ages," at the grave. Active pallbearers were W.B. Webb, R.C. Minter, I.F. Thomas, Hill Patrick, C.E. Vellines, Harvey Byrd, Walter Ashburn, S.H. Edwards. Honorary: Col. J.E. West, Dr. D.L. Harrell, E.C. King, W.C. King, Horace Bowen, Alfred Bowen, Sr., F.F. Brinkley, R.F. Rodgers, J.E. Harrell, E.W. Graham, J.H. Culley, W.W. Ballard, W.S. Cross, M.A. Cross, T.A. Jordan, J.P. Lee and H.S. Eley. Interment was made in Cedar Hill cemetery, Suffolk. Her parents, Riddick L. & "Love" Lovice (BEAMON) LASSITER, are buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Henderson, NC. Her husband (1842 - 1902) was a Confederate veteran, having served as a private in Co. A, 16th VA Infantry. He was severely wounded at Second Manassas. Mollie applied for a pension 16 Jul 1926 in Warwick Co. They m. 13 Mar 1872 in Henderson, Vance Co., NC.
