QUINCE ASHBURN DIES AT AGE 72 

Many Survivors From This City 

  SUFFOLK, July 11. - Quince Ashburn, 72, son of the late Henry and Elmira 
Frances Ashburn, of Nansemond County, died suddenly last night at his home 
in Ocean City, Md. 

  He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Earl T. Eberwine, of Driver, and Mrs. 
Norman Polk, of Pocomoke City, Md.; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Eberwine, 
of Driver, and Norma and Quince Polk, of Pocomoke City; one brother, Addison 
A. Ashburn, of New York City; three sisters, Miss Grace Ashburn, Mrs. 
Elizabeth A. Lyon, and Mrs. R.L. Brewer, Jr.; and a number of nieces and 
nephews. 

  The deceased was a member of the Pocomoke City Presbyterian Church and 
teacher of the Men’s Bible Class.  He was a member of the Pocomoke City 
Masonic and Rotary Clubs, and was active in the city’s civic affairs. 

  Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p m. at the Presbyterian Church 
in Pocomoke City.  Burial will be in Pocomoke City.

Birthdate from WW-I draft card, which gives medium height & build, light hair 
   and brown eyes. 

He married Reba E. DOWNING (1880-1945) in 1898 in Philadelphia, PA. 

His parents are buried in Western Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

His father was a Confederate veteran, having served in Co. E (2d), 6th VA
