She was a daughter of the late Milton [sic*] and Mrs. Martha Umphlette Ashley. She was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church and Ladies Star Sunday school class. Besides her sister, she is survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday in I.O. Hill & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. B.J. Willett and Dr. R.E. Brittle. Burial will be in Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery. Annie ASHLEY, of Suffolk, Nansemond Co. native, d. 30 Aug 1975, Suffolk, age 81, interred in Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery (Lot 84*), 1 Sep 1975, "Suffolk (VA) News-Herald," Aug. 31, 1975 *Additional information: Her mother, Martha Adeline "Addie" (UMPHLETT; Mrs. Martin H.) ASHLEY, is also buried there, as are most of Annie's siblings.
