Well Known Farmer Succumbs to Heart Attack; Rites Tomorrow Augustus G. Aswell, age 65, prominent farmer of Nansemond county, died at 7 p.m. last night from a heart attack which developed two hours earlier. Mr. Aswell is survived by six daughters, Mrs. W.N. Mathias, Corapeake, N.C., Mrs. Hattie Harrington, Mrs. Mary Farless, Misses Margaret and Louise Aswell, all of Nansemond county; Mrs. J.W. Underwood, Suffolk: two sons, D.V. Aswell, of Ahoskie, N.C., and Will Aswell, of Nansemond county. Also seven grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. J.F. Baines, of Whaleyville, and Mrs. Kater Brinkley, Portsmouth, Va.; and one half-sister, Mrs. Will Ferrell, Elizabeth City, N.C.; two brothers, John and James Aswell, of Corapeake; one half-brother, Archie Brinkley, of Portsmouth, also survive. She leaves several nieces and nephews. The body was removed to the funeral home of I.O. Hill and Company where funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. R.E. Brittle. Burial will be in Cypress Chapel cemetery. ****************************************************************************** ASWELL FUNERAL HELD THURSDAY Conducted at Hill Chapel; Burial In Cypress Chapel Cemetery Funeral services for A.G. Aswell were held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the I.O. Hill and Company funeral home conducted by the Rev. R.E. Brittle. A duet composed of Mrs. A.E. Byrum, and the Rev. R.E. Brittle, sang the hymns "Home of the Soul" and "Safe In The Arms of Jesus," a solo, "Sunrise," was sung by Mrs. A.E. Byrum, accompanied by Miss Mary Jones. There were many beautiful floral tributes, and the casket was covered with a pall of Easter lilies and roses. Active pallbearers weere G.C. Mann, V.B. Harrell, A.J. Rountree, H.W. Rountree, R.J. Jones, Shirley Baines, Owen Eason, Merritt Ward. Honorary pallbearers were friends of the family. Interment was made in the church cemetery at Cypress Chapel Church.
