Alford, 50, died yesterday morning at Tidewater Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. A.R. Davenport of Columbia, S.C., and Mrs. H.A. Sloan of Pendleton, S.C., and one sister, Miss Agnes Alford of Orange, Va. The body was taken to the funeral home of I.O. Hill & Company, where funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon, conducted by Dr. A.L. Franklin, pastor of the Main Street Methodist church. ****************************************************************************** Clifton [sic; Clinton] B. Alford Suffolk, Oct. 10. - Funeral services for Clinton Benjamin Alford, who died at Tidewater Memorial Hospital, after a long illness, will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the funeral home of I.O. Hill & Co. by Dr. A.L. Franklin. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mr. Alford was the son of Francis and Susan Alford, and is survived by two daughters, Mrs. A. Roy Davenport, of Columbia, S.C., and Mrs. Harry A. Sloan, Jr., of Pendleton, S.C. and a sister, Miss Agnes Alford of Norfolk. He is also survived by a number of cousins in Norfolk. Samuel Duprey GAIILARD; they are buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Anderson, Anderson Co., SC. His father was a Confederate veteran, having served as a private in Co. B, 19th Battalion VA Heavy Artillery, and later as a clerk in the Richmond Commissary.
