Cradock, April 27, Benjamin F. Ames, 73, prominent and well-known truck farmer of Deans, Nansemond County, and of late years a resident of Cradock, died suddenly this morning at 11 o’clock at his home, 42 Prospect Parkway. Mr. Ames was a son of the late B.F. Ames and Roxanna Langston Ames, of Nansemond County. Surviving him are three daughters, Miss Mary B. Ames and Miss Julia E. Ames, of Cradock, and Mrs. Dick Shroeder, of Pig Point; a granddaughter, Helen Bagley Shroeder, of Pig Point; a brother, James E. Ames, of Deans; three half-sisters, Mrs. Y.C. Byrd, of Nansemond County; Mrs. T.O. Palmer and Miss Eunice Langston, of Suffolk. Mr. Ames was an active member of Cradock Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at the grave in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk, Monday at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. R.N. Hartness, assisted by the Rev. W.T. Green. Benjamin F.
