WILLIAM THOMAS AMES

   W.T. Ames, one of the most popular young men of Nansemond County, died at his 
residence, in the Lower Parish, on Tuesday, October 19, 1886, of hemorrhagic 
fever, after only a few days illness. The deceased was about twenty-seven years 
old, was a very successful farmer and trucker, and greatly respected for his 
many excellent traits of character. He leaves a young wife and two small 
children, besides a large circle of relatives and friends, to mourn his sad 
death. He had a policy in the Washington Life Insurance Company for $5000 at the 
time of his death which had been recently issued.
