Mrs. Arthur, who was 83 years of age, was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hardy Williams of Texas where she was born, and had made her home in Franklin for 32 years. She also leaves a half-brother, Howard Williams of Nansemond County and a half-sister, Mrs. George W. Green, a missionary with her husband, Dr. Green, in Ogbomoso, Africa, Mrs. Green at the present being on a furlough in this country. Funeral services were conducted from the family burial plot in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk, Saturday afternoon at 3:45 o'clock in the presence of a large company of friends from Franklin, Nansemond County and Suffolk, the rites being read by the Rev. E.P. Miner, rector of Old Glebe Church, Driver, a friend of the Arthur family of many years standing. The pallbearers were: Claude J. Edwards, D. Hill Stevens of Richmond, G.G. McCann, W.T.
