Suffolk, Va., October 5. - [...] DEATH OF A CHILD. The little son of Mr. and Mrs. George Boykin, Leonard, died at their home on Central avenue early this morning. The funeral was conducted from the residence this afternoon at four o'clock and the remains were interred in Cedar Hill Cemetery. No Find a Grave Memorial His parents may be identical with George Washington BOYKIN, son of John & Mary, and Dora Winfield JONES, who m. 4 Oct 1893 at Gates Station, Gates Co., NC. The M.Cert. gives Dora as daughter of Isaac & Emma S.; rather she was a daughter of "Archie" Archer W. & "Mollie" MARY S. (THRIFT) JONES. They appear in the 1900 Census on Central Ave., Suffolk, Nansemond Co., m. 6 years, 2 of 4 children surviving. They appear in the 1910 Census on Central Ave., Suffolk, Nansemond Co., m. 16 years, 4 of 7 children surviving. They appear in the 1910 Census on E. Cameron St., Lucerne Twp., King Co., CA, living with Kate's sister "Clara" (EVANS; widow of Arthur C.) KIMBER. Dora (1874 - 1929) is also buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Widowed, George (1871 - 1958) 2m. Katie Estelle (TYNER; widow of S.S.) BRITTON, daughter of Jacob Alfred & Esther (ALLEN) TYNER, 26 Dec 1931 in Suffolk.
