Washington Square received a shock last Monday morning in the death of James R. Baker. He had been the leading merchant here for eight years, though only thirty-five. He died intestate and hence the store is closed, to take stock and to arrange for the final settlement of his estate. He was buried on Tuesday afternoon, from the Christian church of which he was a member. [...] W.W. STALEY. James R.
