BAKER, SR., DIES SUDDENLY Robert Newton Baker, Sr., 65, one of Suffolk's most prominent citizens and member of one of the oldest business firms of the city, died suddenly Monday morning at 6:15 o'clock of a heart attack at his home, 118 St. James avenue. Mr. Baker was in the act of dressing when he was stricken, and lived only a minute. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ethel Ames Baker; a son, Robert Newton Baker, Jr.; a brother, V. Lynn Baker, and two sisters. Mrs. Blanche Baker Bunting and Mrs. Susie Baker Vanderslice, all of Suffolk. Funeral services were held at the home on St. James avenue on Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock and burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery, with Dr. A.L. Franklin, pastor of Main Street Methodist Church, officiating.
