Baker Succumbs at 85 Stuart Sigourney Baker, 85-year-old retired railway conductor, died Monday at his home in Hollywood, Florida. Mr. Baker, employed for many years by the Seaboard Air Line Railway, was a native of Norfolk but had spent most of his life in and around Suffolk. Since his retirement he lived in Florida during the winter months and Newsoms in the summer. A veteran of the Spanish American War, he was the son of the late General Lawrence [sic; Laurence] S. Baker of the Confederate Army and Elizabeth Henderson Baker. Mr. Baker was a member of the Episcopal Church and the Boykins Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louise Wilkins Baker; a son, Frederick Stuart Baker, of Miami, Fla.; a grand-nephew, William H. Baker, of Richmond, and a grand-niece, Mrs. James E. Crawley of Blackstone. The body will be taken to the Baker Funeral Home, Suffolk. Funeral services will be conducted at St. Paul's Episcopal Church at a time to be announced later. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** STUART S.
