Badger After a life of nearly four score and ten, being 89 years old, Mrs. Mamie L. Badger died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John A. Brown, on Washington Street, Saturday, August 12, 1905, after an illness of short duration. Mrs. Badger was one of the oldest residents of Suffolk and though stricken in years her mental powers were unimpaired and her declining years were remarkable both for mental and physical vitality. The hand of affliction was laid upon her several years ago when she was stricken blind, and though faces she loved were hidden and the glorious light of day was on continue night without a breaking of morn, yet she bore it all with a Christian’s fortitude and was ready to pass into the realization of a purer and better light in a land where no night cometh. Mrs. Badger was a relict of the late W.M. Badger. The deceased is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Brown, and nephews, Messrs. C.R. Brothers, Archie Brothers and B.M. Bruce and niece, Mrs. W.T. Lipscomb. Her funeral was conducted Sunday afternoon from the residence by Rev. H.H. Butler and her remains were laid to rest in Cedar Hill Cemetery. [Mamie L. (BROTHERS; Mrs. W.M.)
