ARIS REIN* BUTLER 

   CARRSVILLE - Arriss Reine [sic*] Butler, 73, died Friday at 8:15 a.m. in a 
Suffolk hospital.

   A native of Nansemond County, he was a son of Alfred C. and Mrs. Sarah 
Butler and the husband of Mrs. Mary Turner Butler.

   He was a member of Western Branch Baptist Church.

   Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. E.T. Saunders of 
Portsmouth and Mrs. Bernice Bradshaw of Suffolk; two sons, James R. Butler 
of East Whittler, Calif., and John O. Butler of Suffolk; two brothers, L.L. 
Butler of Buckhorn and G.T. Butler of Rocky Mount, N.C.; and 12 grandchildren.

   A funeral service was held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in I.O. Hill & Co. Funeral 
Home by the Rev. T.A. Russell.  Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemetery.  The family 
was at 127 Ridgecrest Drive, Oak Ridge.

   Pallbearers were Harry Winborne, J.P. Daughtrey, Raymond Daughtrey, W.M. 
Ashton, Jr., Causey Griffin, J.W. Bradshaw, James E. Copeland and Nathaniel 
Aston.
