Carlton Butler, Jr., 69, died Friday in Medic Home Health Center in Virginia Beach. A native of Nansemond County, he was the husband of Mrs. Jennie Hurt Butler. He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, the Izaak Walton League, American Legion Post 57 (an Army veteran of World War II); and Suffolk Elks Lodge 685. Besides his widow, survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Faison of Norfolk, Mrs. Kathleen Waddy of Christiansburg, and Mrs. Janice Livesay of Elizabeth City, N.C., and several nieces. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the graveside in Holly Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Kenneth E. Whetzel. A funeral procession will leave R.W. Baker Funeral Home at 10:45 a.m. The family will be at 226 Terrace Court, Suffolk.
