H.L. Foster and Dr. W.B. O’Neill. Miss Nancy Eley, accompanied by Mrs. Clifton Holland, sang, "Sunrise" and Miss Eley and Mrs. F.L. Wright sang, "No Disappointment in Heaven." A Quartet composed of Miss Eley, Mrs. Wright, W.W. Darden and G.D. Underwood, sang, "Good Night and Good Morning." The casket was covered with a pall of pink and white carnations, pink roses and baby’s breath. Active pallbearers were Rufus Copeland, V.V. Butler, George Aston, L.L. Butler, W.H. Braswell, R.C. Griffin, D.R. Copeland and Beverly Aston. Burial was in the Copeland family cemetery near Buckhorn. John Henry BUTLER, grocer, Nansemond Co. native, d. 8 Apr 1945, at home, Portsmouth, age 62, interred in the COPELAND family cemetery*, near Buckhorn, 11 Apr 1945, donated obit, newspaper unknown *He shares a gravestone with his brother Thomas W. BUTLER (1890-1928). Their parents & paternal grandparents are also buried there. Nansemond Co.
