VIRTLEY G. ELEY BUTLER

   Mrs. Virtley Eley Butler, 58, wife of F. Lloyd Butler, who died suddenly 
last Friday afternoon at her residence, 425 Mt. Vernon Avenue, was buried 
yesterday in Western Branch Churchyard, Nansemond County.  Funeral service 
was conducted at 2 o’clock at the residence, the Rev. Mr. Cobb, pastor of 
Western Branch Baptist Church, and the Rev. E.L. Bain, pastor of Broad Street 
Methodist Church, officiating.

   During the service Tom Turner and Mrs. Maddrey sang a duet, "Life’s Railway 
to Heaven."  The casket was covered with a spray of lilies and roses.

Oliver, W. Gardner, Jasper Oliver, L.F. Harrell, J.B. Mathews, T.W. Sturges,

Nix, Frank Hodges, Luther Rogers, R.A. Daughtry, L.A. Vick, G.M. Pierce, R.S.

Wellons.
