Bowden, prominent Suffolk woman, and one of the leading florists of the city, died tonight at her home on Brewer Avenue at 7:30 o'clock after a long illness. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Luther Bradshaw, of Windsor, and was born in Isle of Wight County, but had lived in Suffolk for the past 25 years. She was a charter member of the West End Baptist Church and of its Ladies Auxiliary. She also held membership in the Woman's Club, the Silver Cross Circle of King's Daughters, and in the Virginia State Dahlia Society. Mrs. Bowden began her work in flowers several years ago with a small dahlia garden, and was at the time of her death owner of a growing and prosperous florist business. Surviving her are her husband; two brothers, J.T. Bradshaw of Windsor, and Luther Bradshaw of Norfolk; several nephews and nieces, among them being Miss Myra Vaughan of Suffolk, who made her home with Mrs. Bowden. Funeral services will be conducted at the grave in Cedar Hill Cemetery Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock by the Rev. E.C. Dean, pastor of West End Baptist Church, assisted by the Rev. J. Sydney Cobb of Windsor and the Rev. Dr. H.J. Goodwin of the First Baptist Church. Active pallbearers will be Otis S. Smith, Jr., W.H. Burchett, C.E. King, J.C. Butler, R.. Jacobs, J.M.
