Emory Beale, died at her home near Holland early Wednesday morning after a long illness. Mrs. Beale was the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Stella Saunders Beale of Southampton County, a member of South Quay Baptist Church, the Woman’s Missionary Union and until ill health came was an active member of the Holland Book Club. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Misses Frances Anne and Rebecca Beale of Holland; one niece, Mrs. Mills E. Godwin, Jr. of Chuckatuck; three nephews, Fenton, Leland and Theodore Beale, all of Franklin community; two brothers, Raby Beale of Carrsville and Leland Beale of Franklin. Funeral services were held at the grave in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, Thursday afternoon at 4 o’clock by the Rev. L.F. Paulette of Smithfield, a former pastor, and the Rev. W.L. Lumpkin. Pallbearers were Wesley Beale, R.C. Councill, Dr. Gilmer Holland, E.J. Howell, Edwards Felton, Kermit Saunders, A.L. Jolly and J.P.
