BAILEY Warrenton - last rites for Mrs. James W. Bailey of Suffolk, Va., who died at her son’s* on Saturday [sic; Friday*] after an illness of five weeks, were held from her home on Sunday afternoon. Interment was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. She was the daughter of the late Capt. J.A. Pipkin and Nellie E. Browne Pipkin of Suffolk, Va. and a granddaughter of the late General Jack Pipkin and Dr. Albridgton Browne of Virginia. A life-long member of the Main Street Methodist Church of Suffolk, she was a member of one of the oldest families of Nansemond county, Va. Surviving are one brother, John A. Pipkin of Warrenton, N.C.; two daughters of Baltimore, Md. and Norfolk, Va., and one son, also of Norfolk*. "Emma" Emmaline Roberta (PIPKIN LASSITER; Mrs. James W.) BAILEY, of Suffolk, Suffolk native, d. 13 Dec 1940, at son's home, Suffolk, age 84, interred in Cedar Hill Cemetery (Block C, Lot 22**), Suffolk, 15 Dec 1940, donated obituary, newspaper unknown, circa Dec. 16, 1940 *d. Friday, 13 Dec 1940, 3 p.m., at 417 N. Main St., Suffolk - if that's her son's home, then he was 'of Suffolk'; Saturday was the 14th.
