Fred Bailey, in Windsor, after a short illness. He was a son of Charles Washington and Mrs. Indiana Howell Bailey, of Isle of Wight County. He was a native of Isle of Wight. He was a member of the Windsor Christian Church, and a deacon of the church. He formerly was superintendent of the church Sunday school. He was vice president of the Farmers Bank Windsor. He was raised as the village blacksmith and manufactured wagons and farm equipment. In 1921, he became the distributor in Windsor for the Standard Oil Co. and in 1941 retired. However, he continued active in banking, retaining his vice presidency of the Farmers Bank. Besides his son, surviving are daughter, Mrs. Sidney Cobb Jr. of Windsor; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Mrs. J.C. Roberts, Sr., and Mrs. Opher B. Wilkinson, both of Windsor. Funeral services will be conducted at the residence Saturday, 18 January, 1958 at 3:30 p.m. by the Rev. W.A. Grissom, pastor of Windsor Christian Church.
