Rites Set For John T. Baines 

  Funeral services for John T. Baines, who died yesterday at his home on the 
White Marsh Road, will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 at the Baker 
Funeral Home with the Rev. R.E. Brittle officiating. 

  Mr. Baines was the son of the late Amos and Mary Norsworthy Baines of 
Nansemond and Southampton County. 

  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie E. Baines; a son, Lawrence O. Baines; 
four daughters, Mrs. Elsie O. Byrum, Mrs. Mary Evelyn Byrum, Mrs. Lillian 
O'Neal, all of Nansemond County; Mrs. Mildred B. Barwick, of Palatka, Fla; 
seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two nephews, George J. and 
Ernest O. Baines of Portsmouth. 

  Mr. Baines was a member of the Cypress Chapel Christian Church.  Burial will 
be in the Cypress Chapel Church cemetery.
