Born in Suffolk, she retired after 25 years as a teacher in Suffolk, Portsmouth and Greensville County Schools. She was a member of Suffolk Christian Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher, a member of the West Memorial Bible Class and the Women's Fellowship. She was also a member of the Suffolk Women’s Club and the American Guild of Organists. Survivors include a daughter, Miss Mary William Baines of Suffolk, and several cousins. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home by Dr. Paul Carmany. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
