BAINES DIED EARLY TODAY Retired Farmer Succumbs After Long Illness At Home Near Whaleyville Wallace Kilby Baines, aged 61, a well-known resident and retired farmer of near Whaleyville, Va. died this morning at 9 o'clock at his home after a long illness. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Rosa Baines, two children, Mrs. J.E. King, of Suffolk, Wallace Kilby Baines, Jr., of Whaleyville; two sisters, Mrs. E.D. Ashley, of Tyner, N.C. and Miss Anna Mary Baines, of Whaleyville; three brothers, Frank Baines, of Cypress Chapel, Va., Tony and Peter Baines, of Whaleyville, Va.; two-half sisters, Mrs. Lowell Beamon, and Mrs. Bertie Wiggins, of Norfolk; one granddaughter, Rose King, of Suffolk, several nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements will be announced later, but will probably be held Friday. PIERCE, in Suffolk (Nan.Co. #38). Her gravestone does not indicate this union, and the birthdate shown is questionable. (Find a Grave Mem. #25647675) Preston killed himself 11 Mar 1945, and is buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk - Block C, Lot 116.
