Mrs. Bennett, a native of Wayne County, N.C., was a member of Wilroy Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, William Eugene Bennett; a daughter, Joyce A. Whedbee of Suffolk; two stepdaughters, Fay Major of Battery Park and Peggy Brown of Smithfield; a son, Jerry L. Rabey of Suffolk; two sisters, Olive Matthews of Goldsboro, N.C., and Patty Purdy of Mead, Wash.; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Cedar Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Forrest Guthrie. Memorial donations may be made to the special care unit of Louise Obici Memorial Hospital.
