BENTON Benton Services Held Yesterday Funeral services for Cyrus W. Benton were conducted yesterday afternoon at 4:30 at the I.O. Hill and company Funeral Home by the Rev. R.E. Brittle and Dr. J.G. Truitt. Mrs. Truitt and Miss Ruthanna Foard, accompanied by Mrs. Julian Goodwin, sang "Tell Mother I'll Be There" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Mrs. Brittle read Tennyson's "Crossing the Bar." The casket was covered with a pall of white asters and red roses. Pall bearers were Dudley Austin, J.W. Wood, E.B. Rawls, Clifford Austin, Floyd Lilley, and Miles Benton. Honorary pall bearers were his fellow workers from the Nansemond Ordinance Dept. and friends of the family. Burial was in Bethlehem church cemetery.
