For many years Mrs. Briggs fostered a study of the classics among high school students of Suffolk, and gave a gold medal for presentation each year to the student with the highest average in Latin. The body will arrive here Sunday afternoon at 3:58 via the Norfolk and Western Railway and will be carried direct to the cemetery, where services will be held at the grave, conducted by the Rev. A.P. Thompson. Active pallbearers will be: R.R. Harrell, J.B. Crocker, H.H. Powell, E.P. Trotman, J.M. Lovelace and J.V. Powell.
