BRIGGS Suffolk, Feb. 8. - The funeral services of William Briggs, assistant cashier of the Farmers' Bank, who died at his home in Grace street Saturday evening, will be held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Suffolk Baptist church, of which the deceased was an active member and also on the board of deacons and assistant superintendent of the Sunday school, at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. G.T. Lumpkin. Mr. Briggs is survived by his wife, vho was Miss Ada Shelton; a daughter, Mrs. Lacey G. Edgerton of Lynchburg; and a son, Landrum Briggs of Suffolk, Va.; two brothers, Samuel Briggs of Boydton, Va., and Howard Briggs of Homeville, Va.; and a sister, Mrs. Bobbitt of Suffolk. The lovable character of the deceased and his many sterling qualities of heart and mind made him a figure in the social, business and religious life of this community.
