CLARA MATILDA HOLLAND BYRD

   SILVER SPRING, MD. - Clara Holland Byrd, 89, of the 1000 block of Bucknell 
Drive, died Sept. 6, in a nursing home.

   Mrs. Byrd, a native of Nansemond County, was the widow of Lozzie Byrd. 
She was a member of Holland United Church of Christ.

   Survivors include three nieces, Lucy C. Holland and Luvenia Blythe, both 
of Franklin, and Mary Louise Ware of Silver Spring.

   The funeral was conducted Wednesday in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home, 
Suffolk, by the Rev. David A. Seymour.  Burial was in Holland Family Cemetery.
