PIERCE BYRD Suffolk, Jan. 22 - Mrs. Dollie [sic; Dallie] E. Byrd, widow of Joseph H. Byrd died at the home of her daughter Mrs. E.M. Garner, at Great Bridge, Tuesday night at 7:45 o’clock, after an illness of 12 hours. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. E.M. Garner, of Great Bridge; Mrs. C.C. Pope, and Mrs. P.L. Atkins, of Norfolk; three sons, H.O. Byrd, J.M. Byrd, and V.W. Byrd of Suffolk and Nansemond County; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, W.J. Pierce, of Nansemond county and J.T. Pierce, of Myrtle, and one sister, Mrs. J.T. Whitley, of Suffolk. Funeral services will be conducted at Bethlehem Christian Church, Thursday afternoon at 3 o’clock by the pastor, the Rev. R.E.
