Mr. Brett was the son of William C. and Rosa Brett, of Southampton County, and surviving him are his wife Mrs. Carrie C. Brett; a daughter, Miss Helen Foushee Brett, a son Russell C. Brett, and two grandsons, Russell C. Brett, Jr., and Billy Brett, of Suffolk; two sisters, Mrs. Nina B. Chitty, of Murfreesboro, N.C.; two brothers, F.J. Brett, of Portsmouth, and T.C. Brett, of Como, N.C. The body was taken to the funeral home of I.O. Hill & Company and the funeral procession will leave the funeral home Sunday at a 4:15 p.m. for the grave in Cedar Hill Cemetery, where services will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. by Dr. A.L. Franklin and Rev. F.C. Baker. ****************************************************************************** ISAAC WILLIAM BRETT ISAAC W. BRETT SUCCUMBS TODAY Isaac William Brett, 68, of Suffolk, died today in a local hospital after a short illness. His death occurred at 8:30 a.m. He was formerly employed by the Planters Nut and Chocolate Co., but in more recent years had operated a soft-drink concession at the company’s plant. The son of the late William and Rosa Amanda Brett, he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Carrie C. Brett, a daughter, Miss Helen Foushe Britt and a son Russell C. Brett, all of Suffolk, and two grandchildren, Russell C. Brett, Jr., and William Brett, also of Suffolk. Brothers and sisters living are F. J. Brett, Portsmouth; J.C. Brett, Como, N.C.; Mrs. B.E. Parker, of Suffolk, and Mrs. Nina B. Chitty, of Murfreesboro, N.C. Several nieces and nephews are living. The body was taken to the I.O. Hill and Company Funeral Home where it will remain until 4:15 p.m., Sunday, when the funeral procession will leave for Cedar Hill Cemetery. Services will be conducted at the grave by the Rev. F.L. Baker, pastor of the Oxford Methodist Church, and by Dr. A.L. Franklin, of the Main Street Methodist Church of which Mr. Brett was a member. He also was a member of the Knights of Pythias.
