NEWMAN H. BYRD 

  A funeral service for Newman Herbert Byrd, who died Saturday, was conducted 
at 3:30 p. m. Tuesday in R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Dwight 
Moore, pastor of Oakland Christian Church.  Burial was in Newman Memorial 
Cemetery. 

  Pallbearers were W.D. Harrell, Jack Leggett, W. Cecil Gayle, C.J. Moody, 
P.D. Howell Jr., L.L. Lowe, Ray Howell and C.C. Johnson Sr.
