Barrett, Jr., Dies in Suffolk Richard Crawford Barrett. Jr., 67 years of age, died at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday at the Virginia Hospital following an illness of several weeks. He was a son of the late Mary Estelle and Rlchard Crawford Barrett, of Franklin, but had been a resident of Suffolk for 45 years. For many years he was connected with the National Bank of Suffolk, but was later associated with Dill, Cramer, Truitt Lumber Company. Surviving relatirea include his widow, Mrs. Pearl Chase Barrett; one daughter, Mrs. Benjamin Bruce Elliott, of Columbia, S.C.; one son, Richard Bradford Barrett, of Suffolk; six sisters, Miss Claudia Barrett, Mrs. Frank E. Howell and Mrs. Lavinia Rayles [sic; Rawles], of Franklin; Mra. Vivian Brinkley, Mrs. L.C. Holland and Mrs. S. Preston Hill, of Suffolk; one brother, Robert Sydney Barrett, of Franklin, several nieces and nephews. The body was taken to the I.O. Hill and Company Funeral Home, where funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., tomorrow by the Rev. Louis A. Haskell, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** RICHARD CRAWFORD BARRETT, JR. Richard Crawford Barrett, 67, son of the late Richard C. and Mary Estelle Barrett of Franklin, died at a Suffolk hospital Tuesday afternoon, March 21, at 6:30 o’clock after an illness of several weeks. Mr. Barrett had lived in Suffolk for 45 years and for a number of years was connected with the National Bank of Suffolk, later becoming affiliated with Dill-Cramer Lumber Company. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pearl C. Barrett; a daughter, Mrs. Bruce Elliott of Columbia, S.C.; a son, Richard B. Barrett of Suffolk; six sisters, Miss Claudia Barrett of Franklin, Mrs. Vivian Brinkley and Mrs. L.C. Holland of Suffolk; Mrs. Frank E. Howell of Franklin; Mrs. S.P. Hill of Suffolk, and Mrs. Levinia Rawls of Franklin; one brother, R.S. Barrett of Franklin, and several nieces and nephews. Services were conducted Thursday morning, March 23, at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home of I.O. Hill and I.O. Hill and Company of Suffolk, with the Rev. L.A. Haskell, rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
