Death of Mrs. Georgiana Badger [sic] - [...] 

  Suffolk, Va., May 20. - (Special.) - Mrs. Georgianna Badger [sic] died at 
8:30 o'clock last evening at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Wiley Jones, 
on Holladay street.  She had been ill for more than two years with 
consumption, but her condition was not considered critical until a few days 
before her death.  Deceased was seventy-two years of age, and was a half-
sister of Mrs. Mansfield Batten [sic*].  The funeral will take place at half 
past 10 o'clock to-morrow morning from the Baptist Church.  The remains will 
be taken to the family burying ground in Lower Parish for interment.

"Georgeanna Bridger" m. James 2 Jun 1850, in Gates Co., NC. 
   (Ancestry.com "NC Marriage Index") 

The 1860 Census gives Georgiana, age 31; the 1880, Georgetta, 53. 

*It seems more likely she was a half-sister of Mr. Mansfield BATTEN, as that 
   was her maiden name. 

There is a Joseph Mansfield BATTEN (1853-1927) buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery - 
   Block B, Lot 37.  Cedar Hill list, an extension of the 
   SCHS Cemetery Project:

He m. Louella C. NORFLEET, daughter of Christopher Columbus NORFLEET & his 
   first wife Mary Louise (RABY), 23 Feb 1881, in Nansemond Co.  His parents 
   are given as William A. & Margaret J. Norfleet.

His D.Cert. (27459 {Suffolk #346}) gives his parents as William & Elizabeth 
   (Whitley) Norfleet.  C.C. NORFLEET (1824-1906) was Georgianna's 
   contemporary.
