Bradshaw, who was accidently shot by her little eleven-year-old son, Alton Eley, Saturday [sic; Friday*], while the child was playing with a .22 Winchester rifle, died today at the Virginia hospital. Mrs. Bradshaw, who was Miss Avis of Isle of Wight county, was 46 years of age, and is survived by her husband, R.E. Bradshaw, of the county, sons, Fulmer McAbee of the U.S.A., Ralph and Alton Eley and a little daughter Grace Eley, a sister in Florida and two brothers, one in Isle of Wight county and another in Florida. She was one of the best known women in the Chuckatuck district and was a leader in war work, and church and neighborhood activities. The funeral services will be held Monday at two o'clock at the grave at the Western Branch churchyard, conducted by Rev. Mr. Billings. "Pattie" Martha John (AVIS McABEE ELEY; Mrs. Robert E.) She had remarried 18 Jun 1918, in Suffolk. Her widower is buried in Windsor Cemetery.
