R.E. Brittle, were held this afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at Cypress Chapel Christian Church by the Rev. Dr. W.M. Jay and the Rev. Dr. N.G. Newman, of Holland, and the Rev. Dr. I.W. Johnson, of Suffolk. The combined choirs of Cypress and Bethlehem Churches, which are served by the Rev. Mr. Brittle, sang, "Does Jesus Care," "When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder," "Some Day We’ll Understand," and "God Be With You ‘Til We Meet Again." The casket was covered with a pall of lilies, pink rosebuds, and gypsophila. Active pallbearers were follow clergymen, the Revs. J.G. Truitt, E.C. Dean, H.J. Goodwin, E.A. Potts, C.B. Craig, S.K. Emurian, C.E. Gerringer, and W.H. Corbitt. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Cypress and Bethlehem Churches. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mary Sue (PARKER; Mrs. Rev. Ritchie E.) He fell 28 Sep 1938, his at grandparents' home in Dendron, and died the next day in Suffolk.
