MARY SUE BRITTLE

   Suffolk, July 12 - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Sue Brittle, wife of the 
Rev. R.E. Brittle, were held this afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at Cypress Chapel 
Christian Church by the Rev. Dr. W.M. Jay and the Rev. Dr. N.G. Newman, of 
Holland, and the Rev. Dr. I.W. Johnson, of Suffolk.

   The combined choirs of Cypress and Bethlehem Churches, which are served by 
the Rev. Mr. Brittle, sang, "Does Jesus Care," "When the Roll Is Called Up 
Yonder," "Some Day We’ll Understand," and "God Be With You ‘Til We Meet Again."

   The casket was covered with a pall of lilies, pink rosebuds, and gypsophila.

   Active pallbearers were follow clergymen, the Revs. J.G. Truitt, E.C. Dean, 
H.J. Goodwin, E.A. Potts, C.B. Craig, S.K. Emurian, C.E. Gerringer, and W.H. 
Corbitt. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Cypress and Bethlehem Churches.

   Burial was in the church cemetery.

Her son Richie Parker BRITTLE was delivered by caesarian 30 Jun 1934, and Mary 
   died from complications.  He fell 28 Sep 1938, his at grandparents' home in 
   Dendron, and died the next day in Suffolk.  His obit ("Smithfield Times,"
