Mrs. Brothers was a member of the Christian Church; that church is again called on to mourn the loss of another of its most consistent and influential members. She was a kind neighbor, a friend to the poor, a devoted wife and mother, and beloved by all who knew her. To her children she leaves a rich legacy, in her bright Christian example and many friends to mourn their loss. Her funeral was preached by the Rev. W.T. Walker at the Christian Church yesterday at one o’clock, to a large congregation of sorrowing friends and acquaintances. Her remains were then taken to the family burying ground some miles from Suffolk on the Cypress Chapel road and there interred. These afflicted ones have our sympathy and that of the whole community.
