Byrum were conducted yesterday afternoon at the funeral home of I.O. Hill & Company at 3 o'clock conducted by the Rev. R.E. Brittle. Mrs. A.E. Byrum and the Rev. Mr. Brittle, accompanied by Miss Mary Jones, sang "When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder," and "God Be With You Till We Meet Again." Mrs. A.E. Byrum sang as a solo, "Sometimes We'll Understand." The casket was covered with a pall of Ascension lilies, pink asters, roses and fern. Active pallbearers: J.H. Parker, H.D. Hosier, W.N. Wilkins, J.C. Johnson, Jack Burton, Arthur Wilkins and William Mathews. Interment was in the Cypress Chapel Cemetery. D.Cert. 20865 (Suffolk #282) gives b. 23 Nov 1884. His WW-I draft card gives b. 7 Nov 1877. His widow, Annie Mary (BOYCE) BYRUM, is also problematic. Her gravestone shows b. 23 Jun 1886; however, they m. 25 Mar 1896, so her d.o.b. cannot be correct.
